Cllr. Sylvester Rennie has been elected president of the Liberia National Olympic Committee (LNOC), ending Philipbert Brown’s long tenure and ushering in a new era for the country’s sports administration. The elections took place at the LNOC General Assembly in Marshall City, where a fresh leadership team was voted in to steer the organization for the next four years.
The Congress, held on Friday, February 14, brought together representatives from various federations and member associations. Elections were conducted to select the new executives, who were immediately inducted into office by Cllr. J. Cole Bangalu, Minister of Youth and Sports.
The newly elected officers are:
- Cllr. Sylvester Rennie – President
- Malcolm Joseph – Vice President for Administration
- Ahmed Tukpah – Vice President for Technical Affairs
- Madam D. Sheba Browne – Vice President for Women’s Affairs
- Boi Corvah – Treasurer
Stakeholders have expressed optimism that the new administration will strengthen Liberia’s presence in international competitions, enhance support for local athletes, and improve the country’s sports infrastructure.
