MONROVIA – The President of the Liberia Chamber of Mines, Amara Kamara, has commended the Ministry of Mines and Energy, private sector partners, and other stakeholders for their contributions to organizing the Liberia International Mining and Energy Conference and Expo (LIMEC 2026), which officially opens Wednesday, October 28.
The two-day conference, scheduled for October 28–29 at the Farmington Hotel in Margibi County, will bring together government officials, international investors, mining executives, energy developers and development partners to explore investment opportunities and discuss the future of Liberia’s mining and energy sectors.
In a statement, Mr. Kamara described the collaboration between the government, mining companies, industry partners and international organizers as an important demonstration of their shared commitment to advancing Liberia’s mineral and energy industries.
He particularly acknowledged the leadership of Mines and Energy Minister R. Matenokay Tingban and the Ministry’s efforts in coordinating with the Liberia Chamber of Mines, AME Trade Ltd. and other partners to organize the international gathering.
According to Kamara, the conference provides an opportunity for Liberia to strengthen its engagement with international investors, showcase its mineral resources and energy potential, and establish partnerships that could contribute to economic growth and employment creation.
Mr. Kamara also expressed appreciation to the mining companies, sponsors and other private sector institutions whose contributions have supported preparations for the event.
Among the major sponsors are Avesoro Resources, Mantrac Group, Huawei, CORICA Mining Services, Mansa Resources, Sarmin Metals, Westcrest Liberia, AGL Africa Global Logistics, LEC, LPRA and WBHO.
Held under the theme “Transforming Liberia’s Economy: Driving Development Through Sustainable Mining and Energy Investments,” the conference comes as Liberia seeks to attract additional investments in mineral exploration, production, renewable energy and related infrastructure.
President Joseph Nyuma Boakai is expected to officially open the conference and deliver the keynote address, outlining the government’s vision for attracting investment and promoting responsible development of the country’s natural resources.
The conference will feature panel discussions, presentations and exhibitions highlighting investment opportunities, emerging technologies and services across the mining and energy value chains.
According to Mr. Kamara, the conference’s significance would extend beyond discussions and investment promotion to creating opportunities for Liberian businesses, strengthening local participation in the mining industry, and ensuring investments generate economic benefits for communities.
