PAYNESVILLE – The Paynesville Boulevard Omega Leo Club and its parent, the Paynesville Boulevard Lions Club, have won the Lions and Leos Serving Together Banner Patch Award, an international recognition from Lions Clubs International for joint community service, leadership development and youth mentorship.
Hanson G. Blayon, charter president and immediate past president of the Omega Leo Club, said the award reflected what the two clubs had built between them.
“This recognition is a reflection of the strong partnership between our Leo Club and its parent Lions Club,” Blayon said. “It demonstrates what is possible when experienced leaders invest in young people and work together toward a common purpose.”
Blayon credited the Lions club with the Leo club’s growth and said deepening that relationship, expanding membership and increasing the club’s impact on communities were priorities of his tenure as charter president.
“We are deeply grateful to the Paynesville Boulevard Lions Club for believing in our vision, supporting our growth, and creating opportunities for us to lead through service,” he said.
The recognition is tied to Mission 1.5, Lions Clubs International’s global membership initiative, which links leadership development among Leos to the long-term sustainability of the parent organization.
Blayon said the award should push both clubs further.
“This award inspires us to continue empowering young leaders, expanding our service initiatives, and making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve,” he said.
The Paynesville Boulevard Omega Leo Club is a youth-led service organization operating under the Paynesville Boulevard Lions Club within Lions Clubs International. It promotes volunteerism, leadership and humanitarian service, and provides mentorship for young people seeking to lead in their communities.
