Melton Yoko praises Raji’s leadership, urges stakeholders to extend his term

Paynesville – Montserrado Sub-Association Chairman, J. Melton Yoko, has commended Mustapaha I.  Raji for his exemplary leadership, as President of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), highlighting his efforts in advancing the sport across the country.

According to Yoko, since Raji assumed the presidency, he has successfully decentralized youth football development nationwide.

He noted that under Raji’s administration, Liberia has witnessed the emergence of lower women’s leagues, programs for under 8-15 age groups, improved inter-school football competitions, and well-organized national leagues which have concluded smoothly.

Yoko also emphasized that Raji’s leadership has significantly elevated female football in Liberia, attracting more foreign players to participate in the league.

“Raji has improved female football since he took power in 2018, and this has attracted more foreign players to keep coming into the league,” he added.

As such, Yoko is urging stakeholders to extend Raji’s term for a third period to continue the numerous football development initiatives spearheaded by his administration over the past seven years.

“Giving Raji a third term will be the best thing to happen to Liberian football because of the president’s love to transform football in the country,” he said.

Yoko also highlighted the construction of sports facilities under Raji’s leadership, which he said keep providing young people with opportunities to enhance and showcase their talents.

The Montserrado County Sub-Association head made these remarks on Saturday, February 22, 2025, while serving as a guest on Kool FM’s sports program.
