Old Road-based Jubilee FC has officially reclaimed its spot in the Liberia Football Association (LFA) First Division League for the 2025/26 season, following a resounding 6-3 victory over Philadelphia Lonestar FC on Saturday.
With three matches still remaining in the Second Division campaign, Jubilee FC has secured promotion—completing a remarkable turnaround season.
Founded in 2008, Jubilee FC was relegated to the LFA Second Division after the 2022/23 season. But the club has bounced back in style, accumulating 55 points from 27 matches, with 17 wins, 4 draws, and 6 losses.
Throughout the season, they showcased their offensive strength, scoring 68 goals while conceding 38.
Off the pitch, the club faced significant hurdles, including a US$10,000 fine imposed by the LFA for allegedly submitting fraudulent business registration documents during the club licensing process.
In response, Jubilee FC filed an appeal, requesting a payment plan in a bid to avoid automatic relegation from the Second Division.
Although neither the LFA nor the club has confirmed whether the payment was made by the January 10, 2025 deadline, Jubilee FC’s campaign has not been derailed.
Speaking at Tusa Field on Saturday, April 5, 2025, club president James Nimene expressed pride in the team’s achievement, despite not winning the league title.
“We achieved our target this season—to return to the First Division—even though we didn’t win the championship,” Nimene remarked.
A former player himself, Nimene pledged to reinforce the squad ahead of the 2025/26 season to ensure Jubilee FC remains competitive in the top tier.
“I want to thank all the players and coaching staff for their hard work in securing promotion,” he added.
Jubilee FC’s return to Liberia’s top flight marks a new chapter for the club as it seeks to solidify its place in Liberian football.
