MONROVIA – Lone Star Captain Murphy Oscar Dorley found the back of the net as Slavia Prague strengthened their pursuit of the Czech Republic top-flight title. Dorley scored in the 20th minute, helping Prague secure a dominant 5-1 victory over MFK Karviná in the Czech Elite Championship.
With this win, Prague maintained their eight-point lead at the top of the Czech League table. Dorley’s early strike set the tone for Prague, who went on to score four additional goals to seal the match.
Prague, eager to reclaim the league title they last won in 2021, have relied on Dorley’s influence this season. The 26-year-old has made 11 league appearances, scoring once and providing one assist.
Meanwhile, Liberian defender Sampson Dweh played the full 90 minutes as Viktoria Plzen solidified their hold on second place with a 2-0 victory over Bohemians 1905.
Both Dweh and Dorley are expected in Monrovia on Monday to join Liberia’s national team for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier against Togo, scheduled for Wednesday at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex. Liberia will play their final group fixture away against Algeria on November 17, 2024.
Liberia, currently at the bottom of Group E with one point from four matches, are out of contention for qualification.
