Ayew Foundation unveils superstars lineup for official launch in Monrovia

Monrovia – Ahead of the official launch of the Jordan Ayew Foundation in Liberia, scheduled for early May 2025, the foundation has revealed a lineup of attending superstars.

Among the notable figures expected in Monrovia for the event are Italian forward Mario Balotelli, former Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng, his brother Jerome Boateng, and André Ayew. The launch will feature a mini football game as one of its highlights.

Since October 2024, Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew, through his initiative Team Ayew Liberia, has made significant donations to orphanages across Liberia.

Speaking to The Liberian Investigator on Monday, January 6, 2025, Clarence Lee Chea, head of Team Ayew Liberia, emphasized the broader mission of the foundation beyond the upcoming launch event. He highlighted Ayew’s commitment to improving the lives of underprivileged children in Liberia.

“The goal is to help more underprivileged kids across Monrovia lead better lives, just like children in other parts of the world,” Chea stated.

He added, “The involvement of celebrities like Mario [Balotelli], the Boateng brothers, and Ayew will add vibrancy and excitement to the event.”

Chea also disclosed that as part of the foundation’s efforts, the Ghanaian striker plans to introduce an educational scholarship program. This initiative will provide scholarships for two needy students in each university across Liberia.

Jordan Ayew, who joined Leicester City on a two-year contract worth £5 million on August 23, 2024, has had a prolific career in English football, playing for clubs such as Swansea City, Aston Villa, and Crystal Palace.

Internationally, Ayew made his senior debut for Ghana on September 5, 2010, in a 3–0 victory against Swaziland during a 2012 AFCON Qualification match. Since then, he has earned over 106 caps and scored 28 goals for the Black Stars.
