Rep. Marvin Cole Disrupts Session in Spar with Speaker Koffa

Monrovia – Bong County lawmaker, Rep. Marvin Cole, on Thursday brought the regular session to a standstill after seizing the microphone during a spar with Speaker Cllr. Fonati Koffa over Koffa’s failure to address a communication regarding the killing of a citizen in Cole’s district.

When Speaker Koffa asked Rep. Cole to hand over the microphone and approach the chair, Cole refused, stating, “I’m not going to give the microphone. When somebody is killed, it’s an important issue that we should deal with. It has been consistently compromised by the Speaker and the Justice Minister.”

Several lawmakers approached Rep. Cole to calm him down and encouraged him to approach the chair. Others suggested that he be asked to leave the chamber for disrespecting the Speaker. Cole later walked out of the session.
