Washington DC – The Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA) will on Saturday, April 26, 2025 break grounds for a multi purpose complex. The facility when completed with host bank, library, playground among others.
Nearing US$ 1 million the project is part of key development initiatives by ULAA with aim to bringing Disapora Liberian closer to home. Already, a delegation of 35 members headed by ULAA National President Hon. Mohammed Keita is in the country leading to Saturday’s event.
The project is designed to enhance ULAA operations and provide essential services to both Liberians returning home and in the community.
In addition to the groundbreaking ceremony, the ULAA delegation will engage in important discussions with the Liberian government and other key stakeholders regarding the proposed out-of-country voting for Liberian citizens in the 2029 elections. This initiative highlights ULAA’s commitment to ensuring that the voices of Liberians abroad are heard and represented in the democratic process.
Moreover, the delegation will participate in community outreach by distributing food and essential supplies to communities in and around Monrovia. This act of solidarity reflects ULAA’s dedication to supporting the welfare of its fellow citizens and fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation.
Those forming a part of Saturday’s event includes prominent members such as ULAA Chairman on External Relations, Hon. Stephen Binda; ULAA National Secretary General, Borbi Bropleh; members of the Board of Directors; and chapter leaders from across the United States.
Established in 1976, the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas is largest Liberian non-profit organization in the Disapora that serves as a collective voice for Liberians living in the Americas. ULAA aims to promote social, cultural, and economic development within the Liberian community and foster collaboration between the diaspora and Liberia.
