STAND Inaugurates National Head Office in Congo Town, Launches Reform-Focused Advocacy Manifesto

Monrovia – Thousands of enthusiastic supporters gathered today in Congo Town, Monrovia, as Solidarity & Trust for a New Day (STAND), one of Liberia’s leading civil society organizations, inaugurated its National Head Office. The highly anticipated event brought together representatives from prominent national bodies, including the Liberia Council of Churches, the National Muslim Council of Liberia, and the Independent Human Rights Commission, underscoring the organization’s wide-reaching influence and commitment to national reform.

During the opening ceremony, a 15-point petition was submitted on behalf of disadvantaged Liberians, urging STAND to lead the charge on vital reforms and legislation aimed at improving the lives of everyday citizens. The petition was delivered by Madam Mouna Farhat and embraced by STAND Chairman Mulbah K. Morlu, who referred to it as a “mandate from the people.” Morlu assured the crowd that the organization would push vigorously for the changes outlined in the petition, reaffirming STAND’s commitment to advocating for justice and meaningful reform in Liberia.

The event was not only marked by high-profile speeches and pledges but also attracted local celebrities, including musicians Natif and Nigger Blow, as well as comedian Mama Liberia, whose presence further elevated the atmosphere of unity and celebration. STAND’s leadership expressed gratitude to its members, affectionately called “STANDERS,” for their unwavering dedication and support in driving the organization’s vision forward.
