MONROVIA – Sources close to President Joseph Boakai have informed The Liberian Investigator that he has suspended his chief bodyguard, Tarnue Kesselee, for alleged acts of corruption and misapplication of funds entrusted to him.
He was suspended three weeks ago.
According to our source, who requested anonymity, Tarnue Kesselee, who had served President Boakai even before his presidency, was given money to pay off and relocate people with shops and small businesses near the President’s home. However, he betrayed the President’s trust.
Our source revealed that Kesselee was entrusted with amounts starting from US$1,300, per booth depending on the size of the booths and businesses, but instead, he allegedly gave the shop and business owners only US$300 each.
This information infuriated the President, leading to Kesselee’s indefinite suspension.
This is a developing story, we will update as more details emerge.
