NACSUL Commends Liberian-Owned West Coast Group for Revitalizing NTA with Spare Parts Importation

MONROVIA — The National Civil Society Union of Liberia (NACSUL) has commended West Coast Group of Companies, a Liberian-owned entity led by CEO Roland Paul, for a significant contribution in restoring the operations of the National Transit Authority (NTA). The company facilitated the importation of a large quantity of spare parts that are expected to revive several buses that have been out of service for a long period.

West Coast Group, established in 2015, has grown into a global player, maintaining ties with countries across the Middle East and the United States. The company manages various subsidiaries including West Coast Oil and Gas Investment, West Coast Logistics and Investment, and West Coast Development Foundation, among others.

In a press release issued over the weekend, NACSUL praised West Coast Group for this milestone intervention, especially given the current challenges with public transportation. The NTA’s inability to service its fleet due to a lack of spare parts has worsened commuting difficulties for citizens. However, the recent importation under the Boakai-Koung administration is expected to lead to the quick replacement of damaged parts, easing transportation challenges.

NACSUL lauded the company’s credibility, highlighted by its ability to secure a loan from a local bank to pre-finance the procurement of the spare parts. The civil society organization also recognized the company’s partnership with DHL, ensuring the safe importation of the parts, and anticipated that the successful deployment of these parts would not only enhance NTA’s operations but also boost government revenue.

The CEO of West Coast Group, Roland Paul, assured the public that the company remains committed to providing cost-effective and reliable solutions. He emphasized the firm’s ability to import any kind of goods into Liberia within four to eight days, underscoring the logistical capacity of the company.

The statement also touched on the company’s community-focused initiatives through its development foundation. West Coast Group has made strides in assisting less-fortunate citizens while maintaining a balance between not-for-profit activities and the provision of quality, profit-driven services.

In its closing remarks, NACSUL urged other Liberian companies to follow the example set by West Coast Group, citing the company as a model of trustworthiness and quality service delivery.
