Monrovia City Corporation and Center for Integrated Solutions Partner to Boost Human Capital Development

MONROVIA — The Monrovia City Corporation (MCC) and the Center for Integrated Solutions (CIS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote human capital development through education and training at the MCC.

The Center for Integrated Solutions is a Liberian firm that provides technical assistance and capacity building to help institutions grow and thrive.

According to the MoU signed over the weekend in Monrovia, the Center for Integrated Solutions will assist the Monrovia City Corporation in establishing a one-stop shop (City Service Center) to serve the city’s customers, an MCC Communication Center, a Remote Compliance Monitoring Center (using CCTV technology), and a Monrovia Palava Hut (Mediation Center).

Zuleka Woods, Chief Program Officer of the Center for Integrated Solutions, who signed on behalf of her organization, stated that as part of the MoU, the CIS will help build the Monrovia City Foundation, a platform for guest services, and digital attendance for MCC staff.

According to her, the development and implementation of customized training programs to improve MCC staff skills and competencies in areas such as project management, financial management, grant writing, and community engagement, as well as organizing workshops, seminars, and ongoing professional development sessions with expert trainers and facilitators, are all encapsulated in the MoU.

“The CIS will also assist in the design and implementation of the MCC Innovation Hub, conduct research, identify funding opportunities, and assist MCC with project management,” she noted.

Making a brief remark a few minutes after he officially affixed his signature to the MoU, the City Mayor of the Monrovia City Corporation, John-Charuk Siafa, thanked the Center for Integrated Solutions and termed the collaboration as timely and welcoming.

“We see this as a great opportunity for us all and, trust me, there could have been no better time than now,” Mayor Siafa noted. He promised the MCC’s unwavering commitment to the success of the established partnership in the interest of the city and its people.
