Mobile Police Booth Commissioned by President Boakai Damaged in Motor Accident

MONROVIA — Information reaching The Liberian Investigator indicates that the mobile police booth, once commissioned by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and strategically placed at the Boulevard Junction in the City of Paynesville to expedite criminal investigations, has been damaged in a motor accident.

Sources confirmed the incident occurred late Sunday evening, July 28, 2024. The Liberia National Police (LNP) authorities immediately removed the police security booth from the scene due to its unfavorable condition following the accident.

The spot where the police booth was situated

The modern mobile police booth, equipped with a 360° CCTV camera and a base phone, was officially commissioned by the Liberian Chief Executive alongside LNP Inspector General Col. Gregory Coleman and installed at the Boulevard Junction in early March 2024.

This booth aims to enhance the police investigation capacity, handle crimes swiftly, and improve communication among on-duty officers.

The project, initiated by the SAVVY Group of Companies, introduced 25,000 booths for deployment across 15 counties. The Liberian leader described it as the beginning of a new police force committed to serving the country and protecting its citizens.

The actual cause of the incident has yet to be established, and the investigation is ongoing.
