Monrovia – The Married Men’s Association of Liberia (MMAL), a conglomeration of committed and responsible married men from diverse professional backgrounds, hosted its inaugural in-person gathering on Sunday, February 16, 2025. The event marked a historic milestone in the organization’s efforts to foster stronger families and healthier relationships within Liberia’s communities.
After weeks of online meetings and virtual engagements, the highly anticipated event took place at the residence of Mr. Charles Yates, an ardent member of the Association, in commemoration of his wedding anniversary. The occasion brought together members from across Montserrado County to celebrate with the Yates family, engage in meaningful discussions, share personal experiences, and explore ways to strengthen the institution of marriage in the country.
Speaking while presenting a well-decorated gift to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Yates, the Acting National Chairman of the Association, Delino Bryant, commended members of one of Liberia’s fastest-growing institutions for their unwavering support and dedication since its establishment.
According to Chairman Bryant, the Association should not be seen as merely a social club for merrymaking but as a body of professional men committed to engaging in meaningful activities, including humanitarian services and initiatives to empower its members to contribute positively to their families and society at large.
“The strength of any community or larger society is rooted in the stability of families. Through this event, we aim to uplift one another, learn from our experiences, and work collectively to ensure that marriage remains a foundation of strength and love in Liberia and beyond,” Chairman Bryant stated.
As part of its long-term vision, the Association plans to feature keynote speakers, including renowned relationship experts, community leaders, and successful married couples who will share insights on overcoming marital challenges, the importance of mutual respect, communication, and commitment.
The sessions will also include interactive discussions on how the Association can support its members in creating stable family environments, promoting mental health, and addressing the needs of children and youth within their homes.
During the event, Assistant Information Minister Rufus Paul and two other eminent married men officially joined the Association, pledging to work actively with its leadership to achieve the organization’s objectives.
Some of the members in attendance included Acting National Chairman Delino Bryant, Policy Advisor Perry Adam Sackor, Secretary General David Flomo, Communication Manager Sam Upriver Collins, Financial Chairman Bill Timothy Sr., Jutonu Youwateh Kollie Sr., and Public Relations Officer Lexus Abraham Blamo.
