Monrovia – Lenise Home Care and Support Services (LHCSS) wrapped up its sixth Housekeeping Training program over the weekend, equipping 30 new recruits with essential skills in housekeeping, customer service, and health and safety. The intensive three-day training—from February 20 to 23—was held at LHCSS’s dedicated training facility in Monrovia and combined theoretical lessons with hands-on practice to raise home care standards across Liberia.
In his opening address, senior staff member Mr. William C. Nyekan highlighted the agency’s dual mission. “Lenise was created to offer job opportunities while delivering quality service to both the ‘Busy Category’ and the wider public,” he said, urging trainees to stay engaged and committed throughout the course.
The program featured a panel of seasoned professionals. Mr. Charles G. Kpan, a training facilitator from Gonet Academy, stressed that effective communication is the cornerstone of exceptional customer service. Meanwhile, LHCSS General Manager Mr. Lewis J. Sowa underscored the importance of empathy, active listening, and trust in nurturing client relationships. Ms. Yeato Solomon, specializing in housekeeping techniques, shared environmentally friendly cleaning practices and stressed that “every customer is a unique story, and the way we engage with them can fundamentally alter that narrative.”
During a practical session led by Housekeeping Supervisor Mr. Jason James, participants engaged in hands-on activities including laundry, garment pressing, cooking, and general housekeeping tasks—demonstrating the vital role of organization in service delivery.
As the training concluded, CEO Mrs. Danise Love Dennis-Dodoo reminded the recruits that they are “The Face of Lenise,”. She encouraged the trainees to exhibit high level professionalism as taught during the training wherever they found themselves.
Certificates were awarded to each participant, validating their newly acquired skills and commitment.
The initiative not only prepares caregivers for successful careers but also reinforces LHCSS’s commitment to delivering compassionate, professional home care services throughout Monrovia and beyond.
