In recent weeks, reports of unusual gatherings, unexplained disappearances, and rumors of ritualistic practices have surfaced. The growing anxiety has prompted many residents to take extra precautions, particularly keeping their children close to ensure their safety.
The community’s concerns were voiced during a meeting held in the Tower Street Community on September 9, 2024. At the gathering, residents shared unsettling accounts of nighttime activities involving individuals dressed in strange attire performing mysterious rituals. These experiences have heightened the sense of fear and unease within the community.
John Barchue, a leader in the Tower Street Community, expressed the collective fear: “We cannot sleep at night. We hear unusual sounds and see strange people moving in the dark. We fear for our children and families.”
Local authorities have responded to these growing concerns. Inspector Peter Thomas, Chairman of the Joint Security in the district, reassured residents that the situation is being closely monitored. He pledged that investigations will be carried out in collaboration with local officials and emphasized the need for community vigilance.
As authorities work to address these troubling reports, the people of Wee Statutory District remain hopeful for a swift resolution and the restoration of safety in their community.
Additionally, it was revealed that District Lawmaker Alfred H. Flomo had previously informed the Liberia National Police (LNP) about the mysterious deaths in the area.
