KAKATA, Margibi County – The office of Senator Nathaniel McGill has immediately suspended Cyrus Konah, the county coordinator, after police in Kakata charged him in connection with two separate cases of alleged motorcycle theft.
Konah, a former representative candidate for Margibi District 4, was among three individuals charged with criminal conspiracy and theft of property. He was formally sent to court following the conclusion of the police investigation.
Bobby Gray, chief of staff to Senator McGill, said the senator is deeply disappointed by Konah’s alleged involvement in actions that undermine the integrity and public trust expected of anyone representing the senator’s office.
“More than 50,000 people voted for Senator McGill in Margibi, and only 21 individuals were selected to work in the office—not necessarily because they were the most qualified, but because they earned the senator’s trust,” Gray said. “Konah’s alleged actions have brought shame and disgrace to the office.”
A letter dated May 12, 2025, and obtained by The Liberian Investigator, confirmed the indefinite suspension of Konah from his post. The letter states that the suspension will only be lifted if Konah is fully exonerated.
“Please be advised that your suspension shall remain in effect until a complete legal process results in your full acquittal,” the communication reads. “Failure to be cleared of these allegations will lead to your permanent disassociation from this office.”
The letter also warns members of the public, particularly citizens and businesses in Margibi County and beyond, not to engage with Konah in any official capacity.
“This communication also serves as an official notice to the general public, especially the citizens and business community in Margibi County and Liberia at large, that you are no longer authorized to act or speak on behalf of the Office of Senator Nathaniel McGill,” the letter states.
Konah has been instructed to immediately return all government property, documents, and materials in his possession.
