Johnny Kpehe Donates 500 Gallons of Fuel to Bong County Health Team

GBARNGA — Bong County Senator Johnny Kpehe has donated 500 gallons of fuel to the Bong County Health Team. The donation ceremony, held on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the Bong County Health Team Office in Gbarnga, featured remarks from Gondai Kwei Seton, Chief of Office Staff for Senator Kpehe. Seton revealed that the donation aims to support the County Health Team’s efforts to enhance healthcare in Bong County.

Mr. Seton highlighted the significant challenges faced by the County Health Team in meeting the health needs of residents. He noted that the three referral hospitals in the county—C B Dunbar, Phebe, and Bong Mines Hospitals—are struggling with the logistics of fueling their generators and ambulances.

Senator Kpehe’s Chief of Office Staff emphasized the Senator’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery in Bong County. He also mentioned that a few months ago, Senator Kpehe broke ground for the construction of an ambulance hub, a project that is ongoing and, once completed, is expected to help minimize ambulance service challenges in the county.

Seton underscored the importance of strengthening the health sector and improving access to essential medications for residents, which he described as a key component of Senator Kpehe’s developmental agenda. He added that Senator Kpehe’s interventions are aligned with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s ARREST Agenda for the development of Liberia.

Dr. Jefferson K. Sibley and Sam T. G. Siakor, Bong County Health Team Officer and Administrator, respectively, expressed their gratitude for the donation. They assured that the fuel would significantly alleviate some of the logistical challenges faced by hospitals, clinics, and ambulance services in the county.

Dr. Sibley and Siakor assured Senator Kpehe that the donated fuel would be used for its intended purpose. They also called on other well-meaning citizens of Bong County to follow Senator Kpehe’s example in supporting the county’s healthcare infrastructure.
