Montserrado County Senator Saah Joseph has donated a 40-foot container of assorted medical supplies to Grand Cape Mount County health team. The donation, valued at thousands of dollars, also included $20,000 worth of medicines handed over to the county health team for distribution among local health facilities.
The contribution is part of Senator Joseph’s ongoing initiative to support healthcare services across various counties in Liberia. With the assistance of his US-based partners, Gateway Alliance, Senator Joseph emphasized that the supplies were intended to strengthen the health sector and provide critical support to hospitals and clinics serving the local population.
“This initiative is part of our commitment to working with counties to address challenges within the health sector,” said Senator Joseph, expressing gratitude to his partners at Gateway Alliance for making the donation possible. “With these new resources, local healthcare providers will be better equipped to address the needs of patients and enhance the quality of care offered within the county,” he added.
The Montserrado County lawmaker pledged to extend the initiative to other counties.
At the handover ceremony, Senator Simone Taylor and Grand Cape Mount County Health Officer Daniel Koffa praised Senator Joseph’s efforts. Both expressed appreciation for the supplies and assured the public that they would be used for their intended purposes, benefiting healthcare facilities and communities across the county.
“The donation comes at a crucial time for Grand Cape Mount County’s healthcare system, which, like many regions in Liberia, faces shortages of essential medical supplies,” they noted.
