MONROVIA — Emmanuel Ernest, 23, has been named as the latest addition to Mario Marinica’s squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Togo and Algeria.
The striker, who plays for FC Aarau in the Swiss Challenge League, received his first international call-up for Liberia’s crucial matches. The Lone Star will face Togo on September 6 in Lomé, followed by a home game against Algeria on September 10 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium.
Ernest is among seven overseas-based players selected for these vital fixtures. Having joined Aarau in July after his contract with Northern Cypriot club Çetinkaya TSK expired, the towering forward has already made an impact, scoring three goals so far this season.
