MONROVIA — The Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority (LSEZA) has intensified efforts to attract foreign and domestic investment, showcasing tax incentives, industrial development opportunities and business support services at the seventh Prosperity Africa Conference in Monrovia.
The authority is promoting Liberia’s Special Economic Zones (SEZs) as investment destinations that can drive industrialization, expand exports, create jobs, and strengthen the country’s competitiveness in regional and international markets.
Speaking at the conference at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex, LSEZA Director for Regulations and Legal Affairs Atty. Ebenezer Wilson outlined investment opportunities under Liberia’s SEZ framework and encouraged investors to explore the country’s potential for industrial and commercial development.
Wilson said the SEZ model offers opportunities to attract investment, promote value addition, expand economic activities and create employment for Liberians.
He identified tax incentives, a youthful workforce, vast untapped land resources, and business support services as advantages for companies seeking to establish or expand operations in Liberia.
According to the authority, the SEZ framework aims to create an environment that encourages investment in production, manufacturing, and export-oriented businesses while supporting broader economic growth.
Wilson emphasized the importance of positioning Liberia as a competitive investment destination through policies and incentives designed to attract businesses and stimulate industrial activities.
Beyond its presentation, LSEZA set up an exhibition booth at the conference to engage prospective investors and share information about investment opportunities in the country’s special economic zones.
At the booth, representatives of the authority provided guidance on investment entry requirements, application procedures, available incentives and the processes for accessing opportunities under Liberia’s SEZ regime.
The engagement also allowed potential investors to seek clarification on regulatory requirements and explore opportunities for establishing businesses within the designated investment framework.
LSEZA said its participation aims to strengthen direct engagement with investors while showing how special economic zones can support business expansion, value addition, export development, and sustainable employment.
The seventh Prosperity Africa Conference, held under the theme “Bridge by Prosperity,” brings together investors, government officials, business executives, financial institutions and chambers of commerce from across Africa and beyond.
The conference provides a platform to discuss investment, trade, economic cooperation, and partnerships aimed at expanding business opportunities across the continent.
The Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PACCI) and the Liberia Chamber of Commerce (LCC) organized the biennial gathering.
LSEZA reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Liberia’s special economic zones as platforms for industrial development, trade expansion, investment attraction, and job creation.
The authority said it would continue engaging potential investors and providing information on opportunities available under the country’s SEZ framework as part of efforts to strengthen Liberia’s investment climate.
