Intel Sports Liberia to Deploy Blackmagic Tech for Live Sports Coverage

PAYNESVILLE — A Liberian sports media company says it is moving to deploy professional-grade audiovisual systems to lift local sports production to international broadcast standards, aiming to put Liberian athletes and competitions before global audiences.

Intel Sports Liberia CEO Besario Boakai said the company is adopting production solutions from Blackmagic Design, including DaVinci Resolve Studio software, to overhaul how sporting events are captured, edited and distributed in Liberia.

“We will maximize technology to the fullest to improve sports production and global coverage across Liberia and beyond,” Boakai said.

DaVinci Resolve Studio, widely used in professional sports and entertainment broadcasting, offers multi-user collaboration tools, instant replay systems and high-definition workflow capabilities that Boakai said are central to the company’s expansion plan.

“The technology has taken sports production and replay to another level,” he said. “We plan to maximize these capabilities to maintain professionalism and world-class standards in sports programming and coverage throughout Liberia.”

Liberia’s sports sector, particularly football, basketball, athletics and grassroots competitions, has historically struggled with inconsistent media coverage, limited production equipment and inadequate broadcast infrastructure. Professional multi-camera coverage and advanced live-event production have remained largely out of reach.

Boakai said upgraded production standards could help local competitions attract sponsorships, strengthen fan engagement and increase international exposure for Liberian athletes and teams.

“This means a lot for Liberia’s sporting sector, which has long faced challenges in delivering professional multi-camera sports coverage to global audiences,” he said.

Sports media analysts say modern broadcasting increasingly relies on digital workflows, multi-camera production, motion graphics and high-definition streaming to meet growing global audience expectations. Improved production quality also drives commercial growth by attracting advertisers and creating partnership opportunities with international broadcasters and streaming platforms.
