MONROVIA – Customers of Sapelle International Bank Liberia, commonly known as SIB Bank, are praising the institution for its consistent, accessible delivery of financial services across the country.
Headquartered in Monrovia, SIB Bank has expanded its presence with 11 branches in key locations including Sinkor, Red Light, Bushrod Island, and in Grand Bassa, Margibi, Bomi and Sinoe counties.
Originally established in 2016 as GN Bank, the institution was later rebranded and now employs more than 125 Liberians. The bank’s growing reputation is tied to its expanding reach and strong community presence.
Customers lauded both the bank and local authorities for their joint commitment to promoting regional economic development. A recent assessment by The Liberian Investigator observed increasing public trust in the bank, with customers highlighting SIB’s reliability, professionalism and customer-centered approach.
“SIB has brought critical financial services closer to us,” said one customer. “We no longer have to spend extra money on transportation just to save our little cash. We are more than happy and satisfied with what the bank continues to do for us.”
Clients said they now have quick and direct access to their savings. “We don’t face delays—once we’re at the counter, our money is available immediately,” said another customer.
SIB Bank’s branches offer a full range of services, including deposits, withdrawals, and both domestic and international money transfers. The bank also connects reputable Liberian businesses with partners in countries such as Ghana, Nigeria and China.
The bank’s inter-branch network allows customers to deposit funds in county branches and retrieve them in Monrovia, reducing the risks associated with traveling long distances with large sums of cash, especially during the rainy season.
Additionally, SIB facilitates MoneyGram services for both account and non-account holders, expanding its accessibility to the broader public.
Beyond banking, the institution continues to create jobs and invest in staff training to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Citizens interviewed by The Liberian Investigator encouraged SIB Bank to continue its efforts, saying the bank’s services have brought convenience, economic empowerment and renewed trust to Liberia’s banking sector.
